Do not know the interpretation of border of FireFox

You do not know because I write a small one time was plagued by meaning &.

Working on a website, I think a line to the edge of the browser FLYING, we set the border in the style sheet. I can see it well with IE, you free it is a gap and Firefox · · ·.
HTML following that. (In the style of the body element margin: set the:;; 0px 0px padding)
You have specified a margin 10px put a div element in a div.

<div style="margin: 0px auto; padding: 0px; border-left: 1px solid black; border-right: 1px solid black; width: 250px;">

<div style="margin: 10px;">テスト</div>

表示結果が下の通り。

Firefoxだと10px分の隙間が出来てしまいます。

これがそういう仕様であれば仕方ないのですが、スタイルシートに「border」の一括指定、もしくは「border-top」を追加すると今度は下のようにちゃんと上まで線が引かれます。

一体これはどういう解釈なのかしら？という疑問です。

どうやらこれはFireFoxではなくIEの方がバグらしいです。（ コメントを頂きました ）
しかし、どちらかというと私的にはIEの解釈の方がすんなり受け入れる事が出来るのですが…(^－^;
